The Group’s foundation was laid in 1989 at Shahada with the establishment of Cheminova Intermediates Pvt. Ltd., initially Manufactured Metanilic Acid. Driven by growing demand for dye intermediates such as Resist Salt and other specialty chemicals, The group expanded its capabilities and built a strong reputation in chemical manufacturing and paint auxiliaries.
Recognizing the environmental challenges associated with excessive chemical fertilizer use and increasingly stringent global pesticide residue norms, the Group diversified into sustainable agricultural solutions through Cheminova Agrotech. This marked a strategic shift toward eco-friendly agricultural inputs, iincluding Neem Oil (Cold-Pressed Kernel), Neem Oil–based insecticides, Karanja (Pongamia) Oil, and Azadirachtin Technical — supporting sustainable farming practices while safeguarding soil health and biodiversity.
Building on this momentum, the Group further expanded into the starch industry with Soham Colloids at Shahada. Today, Soham Colloids is a leading manufacturer of Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP), Carboxymethyl Tamarind (CMT), and Guar Gum widely used as a high-performance printing thickener for polyester textiles. The division reflects the Group’s strength in Agro-based value addition and process excellence.
In 2021, the SOHAM Group commissioned a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to produce advanced Starch and Cellulose derivatives from Guar Gum, Tamarind Starch , Corn Starch, Tapioca Starch and Cellulose for Food Application as well as Cosmetics Application.
In 2023, Soham Group strategically expanded its manufacturing capabilities to produce a diverse portfolio of specialty chemicals and ingredients. This expansion allows us to serve multiple high-growth industries, including Cosmetics, Home & Oral Care, Food, and Pharmaceutical applications.

Following the successful launch of Cheminova Agrotech, the SOHAM Group strategically diversified into the starch industry under the banner of Soham Colloids, established in Shahada. Soham has emerged as a leading manufacturer of Tamarind White Seed and Tamarind Kernel Powder (TKP).
Tamarind-based starch is widely utilized as a printing thickener for polyester fabrics in the textile industry, offering excellent viscosity and performance in textile printing applications.
In 2021, Soham Group commissioned a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to the production of Carboxymethyl Tamarind (CMT), Guar Gum, and Carboxymethyl Starch (CMS). This milestone significantly strengthened our capabilities in advanced starch-based derivatives, enabling us to support a wide range of high-performance industrial applications.
These specialty starch products serve as effective viscosity builders and are widely used across industries such as hydraulic fracturing, textile sizing for jute yarn, cotton warp and polyester, as well as paper and explosives manufacturing. Engineered with precision and manufactured under strict quality controls, our products deliver consistent performance and reliability in demanding operational environments.
